Solo Photoshoot in Paris

A solo photoshoot in Paris takes one to two hours. You do not need to know how to pose or to be photogenic: we direct posture, hands and chin frame by frame. Most people arrive nervous and stop noticing the camera within ten minutes.

Travelling alone should not mean coming home with nothing but selfies. A solo session is also the least intimidating one to book, because there is nobody to coordinate with and no group energy to manage — just you, the light, and someone telling you exactly what to do.

Where we shoot solo portraits in Paris

Backdrops that flatter one person in the frame.

Palais-Royal columns
Stripes, shade and repetition. The best noon spot in Paris and the most forgiving for a first-timer.
Montmartre backstreets
Ivy, shutters and old doors. Warm, human and instantly recognisable without being a postcard.
Pont Alexandre III
Gold, stone and the river. One person fills this frame better than a group does.
Trocadéro at sunrise
The postcard, before the crowd. Worth the early alarm once, for the frame that goes on the wall.

Photographer tip

Bring the outfit you feel best in, not the one you think photographs best. Comfort shows in the shoulders and the shoulders are what the camera reads first.

How we direct a solo session

What we are doing while you are being photographed.

One instruction at a time
Never a list. Chin, then weight, then hands. It is why people relax instead of performing.
We show you the back of the camera
Early, and once. Seeing one good frame changes how you stand for the rest of the session.
Hands have a job
In a pocket, on a collar, holding a coffee. The most common reason a portrait feels awkward is that nobody told the hands what to do.
We shoot the walk-ups
The frames between the poses, while you are moving into place. They are often the best ones.

What to wear for a solo photoshoot

Solid colours, one strong piece, and a shape that moves. A long coat, a dress with weight in the fabric, or a well-cut jacket will do more for the photo than any accessory. Avoid busy prints and visible logos — they date the image and pull the eye off your face.

Two outfits are enough for two hours. Bring the second one in a small bag, and plan a café or a hotel on the route rather than counting on a public toilet.

Frequently asked

How much does a solo photoshoot in Paris cost?

From €450 for one hour at one spot, €850 for two hours and two locations with an outfit change.

I am not photogenic. Will this work?

Yes. Being photogenic is a myth about faces; what shows in a photo is whether someone felt comfortable, and that is our job, not yours.

Can I use the photos for my portfolio or LinkedIn?

Yes. Tell us at booking if you need specific crops or a plain background and we plan the route accordingly.

Is a solo session awkward?

For the first five minutes, usually. Then we start walking and it stops being about the camera.

Can I book a solo session for my birthday?

Often what people do. Sunrise on the day itself, then breakfast - it is the most booked birthday format we have.

How many photos do I get?

From 10 edited photos on Basic to 50 on Diamond, plus your full gallery for selection.
