Eiffel Tower Photoshoot in Paris

An Eiffel Tower photoshoot works best at sunrise, from the Trocadéro esplanade or the gardens just below it. The light is warm, the crowd has not arrived, and the Tower is lit from the front. Every session includes posing direction, signature editing and a gallery with every photo taken.

The Eiffel Tower is the most photographed monument in the world, which is exactly the problem: most photos of it look the same. After more than a thousand sessions here we have stopped shooting the postcard. We shoot the eight spots below, we time the route around the light and the queues, and we place you so the Tower belongs to your photo instead of the other way round.

The 8 best Eiffel Tower photo spots

Where we actually shoot, and when each one works.

Trocadéro esplanade
The postcard view, head-on and symmetrical. Empty at sunrise, packed by 9am. This is where we start almost every early session.
Trocadéro Gardens & fountains
Thirty seconds below the esplanade and the crowd disappears. The fountains give reflections, and the Tower rises behind you instead of over you.
Avenue de Camoens
The balcony street. A short flight of steps, stone balustrades, and the Tower framed dead centre. It is small, so it only works before the queue forms.
Rue de l’Université
Haussmann facades on both sides and the Tower at the end of the street. Warm light in the late afternoon, and a café on the corner if you need to warm up.
Pont de Bir-Hakeim
The steel arches everyone recognises. Best from below on the lower deck, and best before 8am — after that the queue for photos is real.
Champ de Mars
The lawns at the foot of the Tower. Room to walk, to run with kids, to lie down. The only spot where you get the full height in frame.
Port Debilly & Passerelle Debilly
River level, cobblestones, the Tower across the water. Our favourite for blue hour, when the city lights come on and the Seine turns black.
Rue Saint-Dominique
A working Paris street with the Tower closing the view. Bakeries, scooters, real life — the least postcard, the most Parisian.

Photographer tip

Do not try to do all eight in one hour. Two spots, walked slowly, always beat five spots done in a rush — and the walk between them is where the best candid frames happen.

When to book your
Eiffel Tower photoshoot

The same spot gives five completely different photos depending on the hour.

Sunrise
The only time the Trocadéro is genuinely empty. Roughly 6:00–6:30 in June, 8:30–9:00 in December. Soft, warm, no queue, no photobombs.
Late morning
Bright and busy. It works at the Champ de Mars and on the side streets, less on the esplanade.
Golden hour
The romantic option. Warm light on the stone, but you share the spot with several hundred people. Book it for the light, not for the calm.
Blue hour
Twenty minutes after sunset. The sky is still deep blue, the Tower is lit, and the balance between the two is perfect. It does not last.
After dark
The Tower sparkles for five minutes on the hour. We plan the route so you are in position before it starts.

→ Spring and autumn give the best balance: comfortable temperatures, sunrise at a civilised hour, and fewer people than July.

Is a professional photoshoot
allowed at the Eiffel Tower?

Yes, for personal photos. The gardens, the esplanade, the Champ de Mars and the surrounding streets are public space, and a photographer with a handheld camera raises no issue. What is regulated is heavy equipment — tripods, lighting stands, drones — and any commercial shoot on the Tower itself, which needs authorisation from the operator.

One point almost nobody mentions: the Tower’s night illumination is a separate artistic work and is protected. Photographing it for your own memories is fine; publishing a night image commercially is not the same thing. Daytime images of the structure are unrestricted. If your session is for a brand or a paid campaign, tell us when you book and we will handle it properly.

This is our practical experience after a thousand sessions, not legal advice. For a commercial shoot, we confirm the current rules with the operator before the date.

What to wear for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot

Solid colours photograph better than prints here, because the Tower already fills the frame with lines. Cream, camel, deep green, burgundy and navy all sit well against the iron and the stone. Long dresses and coats move in the wind on the esplanade, which is a gift on video and on stills. Avoid pure white in full sun and logos of any kind.

Comfortable shoes matter more than people expect: between the Trocadéro steps, the gardens and Bir-Hakeim you will walk a kilometre or two. Bring the heels in a bag and change on the spot – we do this every day.

Frequently asked

What is the best time for a photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower?

Sunrise, without hesitation: empty Trocadéro, soft light, no crowds. Golden hour is the romantic alternative — busier, but the light is magic.

How much does an Eiffel Tower photoshoot cost?

From €450 for one hour at a single spot, up to €2150 for a four-hour session across Paris. Every package includes posing direction and every photo taken.

Where exactly do we meet?

We send the exact meeting point and a map pin the day before, usually Place du Trocadéro or the Bir-Hakeim bridge depending on your package and the light.

How long does the photoshoot last?

From one hour (Basic) to a full sunset-to-night experience. One hour is enough for two spots around the Tower.

Can we do the Eiffel Tower and another spot in the same session?

Yes, from the Silver package. Louvre, Montmartre and the Seine all pair well — we plan the route so the light works at each stop.

Do you help with posing?

Every single minute. You never have to know what to do with your hands.

Can we include outfit changes?

Yes from the Silver package. We plan the change around the route so no time is lost.

What if it rains?

We meet at the spot and decide there. Rain in Paris rarely lasts a whole day, wet cobblestones reflect every light in the city, and some of our best frames were taken under an umbrella. If the conditions really make it impossible, we reschedule as best we can around everyone's availability.

Is there a photography fee to pay?

Not in the public areas where we shoot. There is no ticket and no permit needed for a personal photoshoot in the gardens, on the esplanade or in the streets around.

When do we receive the photos?

Your full gallery for selection within 3 days, and your edited photos about 3 weeks after your selection. Delivery times can vary with the season.
