A surprise proposal photoshoot in Paris covers the proposal itself and the session straight after. We plan the spot and the signal with you in advance, we are in place thirty minutes early, and we keep shooting through the yes.

The photographs everyone remembers from a proposal are not the ones of the ring. They are the twenty minutes afterwards, when both of you are still shaking and neither of you is thinking about the camera. That is why we never book only the minute – we book the hour around it.

Chosen for distance and cover, with a plan B five minutes away in case of rain or a crowd.

The signal

Something you do naturally — a hat off, a hand in a pocket. You choose it, we confirm it in writing.

The position

We coordinate the day before, and just before you arrive we send a photo of exactly where we are standing, so you know where not to look.

The session after

Twenty minutes of walking, laughing and phone calls to family. This is where most of your favourite frames come from.

What to wear, and how to explain the early start

Dress like the two of you are going somewhere nice for breakfast, because that is the story. Anything that looks like a planned photoshoot outfit will raise a question you do not want to answer at six in the morning.

The story that has never failed: a friend recommended a view and you want to see it before the crowds. It explains the hour, the walk and the direction, and it does not sound like a plan.

How much does a proposal photoshoot in Paris cost?

From €450 for one hour, covering the proposal and the session immediately after. €850 adds a second location once the nerves have gone.

How far in advance should we book?

Two to four weeks is comfortable. For May, June, September and December, book two to three months ahead.

Where will you be standing?

At a distance, behind cover or with a long lens, looking like any other photographer working in Paris. We send you a photo of our exact position just before you arrive.

What is the signal?

Something you do naturally and your partner will read nothing into. You choose it, we confirm it in writing.

Can you photograph the proposal and the wedding?

Yes, and we often do. Couples who propose with us frequently come back for the elopement or the wedding.

Do you help choose the spot?

Always. Tell us the date, your arrival time and what your partner likes, and we come back with two options and a plan B.
